SUMMARY:The White Oak Dog Sled Race Winter Event!
DESCRIPTION:                &nbsp;    Join The White Oak Society in a celebration of winter\, history\, and canine companions! An 18 mile sprint race up to the famous Gosh Dam Place.    The fun starts at the White Oak Historical Site just north of Deer River\, Minnesota. Food\, frenzy and fur.    More details to be announced soon!    Vet check-ins will be from noon to seven pm on Friday January 18th.    Everyone is welcome to attend! DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 2012 Medieval Fall Camp. Cooler temps and less bugs make this a very comfortable event to partake of and bring your cloak. Remember though that this is northern Minnesota and as such the weather can be a bit ornery.    Meet the members of the Willensstark Fahnlein mercenary company and a host of other medieval characters. Sample some authentic medieval food\, handle a sword\, throw a spear\, learn what it took to survive and thrive in northern Europe 517 years ago!    This event is open to the public and new medieval camps and vendors are welcome to participate! DESCRIPTION:The 2011 Rendezvous and History Festival is going to be more fun than ever this year! New camps\, new vendors\, new activities! You won't want to miss it! Come see Blacksmiths' Corner and the new 15th Century Mercenary Encampment! There will be a smelting demonstration and lots of activities for kids. Highland cattle\, pigs\, sheep\, and maybe a few chickens. Mercenary Captain Lothar von Degen\, the clerk Mr. MacDonald in the Company Store\, Broken Toe the camp cook\, and many more colorful characters will entertain and educate during this celebration of history!    The event is open from 10 am to 7 pm on Friday and Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday.
