  • GENTLEMEN'S GOLF TOURNAMENT
      1:00 p.m. on Friday Meet at Great Hall Golf was first played in the New World in 1779. Golf stands for Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden. Foursomes will play with their own wood shaft clubs. Refreshments will be served at the great hall following tournament. $10.00 per person fee to cover refreshments and prizes. We will follow the Rules of Golf written in 1744.


  • LIVE AUCTION
      8:30 p.m. Friday, Large Tent near Entrance Stage Across from Dad's Tavern
    Items donated by participants will be auctioned with the highest bid getting the item. This is a fundraiser for the 2001 White Oak Rendezvous. Bid on Glen (Yellow Legs) Swanson's donated scrimshawed powderhorn, among other fine items donated by the participants.


  • ANTIQUE APPRAISAL
       12:00 p.m. on Thursday, Great Hall
    Pat Navratil of Eileen May Antiques. Bring something from home and see what the "treasure" may be worth. Pat has been a consultant for Antique Road Show for Public Broadcasting. Fee of $3.00 per item appraised.


  • FAIRE WYNDS WORKSHOPS
      3:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday VARIOUS TOPICS
    Eric and Jane are from Ohio and are well known for their reenactment skills. Their knowledge of music and games of the Eighteenth Century, coupled with their unique ability in working with people, make these workshops both a delightful experience and a valuable tool that you can apply to your own future Rendezvous endeavors. Please make time to absorb the knowledge of these two seasoned reenactors.


  • HOMEBREW BEER SAMPLING
      4:30 p.m. Wednesday, DAD'S TAVERN
    Bring your own home brew beer and share your best with your friends. A time to show off your best. This is not a competition but a friendly "showcase" of the brew making talent in camp.


  • BREAKFAST AT THE GREAT HALL
      7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. DIFFERENT MENU EACH DAY
    Don't worry about starting a fire or having to do dishes. Eat at the Great Hall every morning. We will serve two different prices: one for pancakes and a varied extended menu. The menu will be different each morning to offer a variety during the week. The cooks are volunteering and the monies raised will be used to upgrade the kitchen and buy additional equipment for the facility. THANKS FOR SUPPORTING US!!


  • COOKING CONTEST
      Prizes for the best dishes and best desserts. Any dish accepted as long as it is cooked in camp. Judged on taste and presentation. A panel will judge all dishes anonymously. Bring dishes to the Fur Post for consideration. Wednesday, 5:00 p.m.


  • FEAST AT THE WHITE OAK FUR POST
      A marvelous array of culinary delights! White Oak will provide the meat. Please bring some victuals to share and your eating utensils. Wednesday, 7:00 p.m.

  • CANDLELIGHT TOUR OF THE WHITE OAK POST
      Catch a glimpse into the personal lives of those living at White Oak in 1798. Witness their political intrigues, their spats, their joys and sorrows! Wednesday, 9:30 p.m.

  • CANOE THE BIGFORK RIVER
      Designated a Wild and Scenic River, this paddle is suitable for novices and families. Canoes will be provided although you are welcome to bring your own.
    Louis La Flash (Ray Boessel, Hafeman Boatworks, Bigfork, MN) will be your guide. Departure from Great Hall parking lot . Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

  • SOAP MAKING EXTRAVAGANZA
      Back by popular demand! Badger Woman (Lynn Albright) hosts this event, which last year included women’s beauty secrets of the 17th century and green clay masks for all.
      $5.00 materials fee. Thursday, 2:00 p.m.

  • LADIES ONLY CANDLELIGHT FORMAL BANQUET
      The Men of Rendezvous are volunteering to Cook, Clean-up and Serve the Ladies whims in the fashion of the Eighteenth Century. This will be an evening long to remember.
      The ladies are asked to pre-register at the office in the Great Hall. Seating will be limited to the first sixty ladies.
    Be Pampered, and join in the frolics of the LADIES ONLY evening.

  • ATLATL TOURNAMENT
      Wednesday 11:00 a.m. (practice) and 3:00 p.m. (competition)
    You are invited to join in on a new game with and ancient hunting tool…The atlatl. To learn more and have great fun, met us for a romp and hunting expedition. Bring a prize to compete and you may take something home other than a bale.

  • WHITE OAK FORMAL BANQUET
    Friday, August Sixth, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety Nine,
    Seven O'clock in the Evening
    At the White Oak Great Hall


       You will be seated and treated as to your station according to the fashion of the Eighteenth Century.
      You are asked to pre-register at the office. Seating will be limited to the first sixty persons.

  • FUR TRADE TRIVIA CONTEST
      Test your knowledge of the Fur Trade era. Be a contestant in our two-day event.
    The contest is open to all ages.
      Saturday-Sunday, 11:30 p.m. on the Rendezvous stage. Prizes awarded each day.

  • DINNER THEATRE
      The Canoe Shed Players present a Moliere’s, "A Flying Doctor".. Ray Boessel directs.
       The Players are re-enactors by day, Thespians by night (look for lines hidden in umbrellas and hats).
      We'll furnish the entertainment, you bring the rest.
    Saturday, 6:30 p.m. Canoe Shed Theater in the post.

  • FRONTIER SCOUTING AND TREKKING SKILLS Wednesday, 12:00 p.m.
    "Hands on" experience to move through the woods without being seen or heard. Bring wood's gear, gun and such. This workshop will be presented as was taught at the Sam Brady Conference in Boonesbourgh, Kentucky. EXPECT TO GET DIRTY!


  • JURIED CAMPS
       Anyone wishing to participate can do so by letting the office know and picking up a registration flag . The camps will be judged by a panel for authenticity, knowledge, persona, and presentation. Prizes awarded for best camp, honorable mention, and peoples’ choice award. Your ballot is in your registration packet or can be picked up at the office. Turn your ballot in at the Company Store (Fur Post)

  • LIBRARY COPIES
      You may get copies for educational purposes for a nominal fee. Select documents and leave name and fee. Pick up the copies later that day or the following day, depending on when the request is made.

    JUST THE FACTS
  • ICE:
       Available near front food booths. Bag is $1.00 and block is $1.50.
  • FIREWOOD:
       Located various areas on site. Return unused wood to place of origin.
  • SHOWERS:
       Available at Deer River High School weekday mornings 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
        Map to showers is in your registration packet or in the office.
  • SWIMMING BEACH:
       Located north on 6, turn right on Highway 19 and travel about 5 miles
  • FIRST AID TENT:
      Located near center of camp west of bathrooms and south of post.

      Look for the Red Cross Flag
